Rapid development
of IT industry and Internet, results in great changes in
the world of music. Consequently, everyone who owns a PC
and at least a bit of talent for music can make music.
Steinberg, with his VST technology, made a real
revolution in the field of music. Today, on Internet,
there are many quality VST plug ins, both expensive and
free ones (that are also high quality). On this site,

Wikipedia:
Virtual Studio
Technology and its acronym VST refer to an
interface standard for connecting audio synthesizer and
effect plugins to audio editors and hard-disk recording
systems. VST and similar technologies allow the
replacement of traditional recording studio hardware
with software counterparts. VST plug-ins are software
modules that can take the form of real-time instruments
or effects. Thousands of plugins exist, making VST the
most widespread audio plugin architecture. |

Michael Ourednik
releases Argotlunar Real-time Delay-Line Granulator for
Mac VST & AU
03rd February 2012 |
|
Michael Ourednik
has released the Mac OS X VST and AU versions of
Argotlunar, his real-time delay-line granulator
effect plug-in.
Argotlunar is a real-time
delay-line granulator. It breaks up an incoming audio
stream into short samples (Grains). Each grain can have
random settings of amplitude, panning, duration, delay,
pitch, glissando, filter and envelope. The output of all
grains is mixed and sent to the main output. The main
output can be fed back into the main input.
Argotlunar is
free software, licensed under GNU GPL v2, and is now
available for Mac OS X (32-bit) and Windows and Linux in
32- and 64-bit versions.

Sonant Live – Free online music tracker
03rd February 2012 |
|
Sonant Live is a minimalistic
music synth and editor that runs in your browser. It has
its roots in the demo scene, and was originally a
Windows native tool (Sonant by Jake Taylor, aka Ferris /
Youth Uprising) for creating songs for 4K demos (where
neither the song data nor the music player code can be
larger than a couple of thousand bytes at most).
Sonant Live is fully compatible with
the original Sonant tool as well as with the js-sonant
JavaScript player routine that can be used for
adding music to your JavaScript demos.
Using this tool requires some
patience! It is not nearly as interactive nor
complete as a professional music authoring tool.

Dubby
v0.1 (beta) – Standalone software Dub Siren for Mac / PC
& TouchOSC on iPad / iPhone
02nd February 2012 |
|
Dubby is a free software virtual
instrument for Mac and PC. It’s an emulation of a ‘Dub
Siren’, an instrument used commonly in dub reggae. If
you’ve never heard of a Dub Siren before, check out this
video which demonstrates its sound and typical use. It’s made for Dub / Reggae DJs who
want to include their own vintage sounds into their
sets. However, the sounds you can make with Dubby
are quite diverse, so it can sit quite comfortably
with other musical genres too.
It can be controlled by keyboard /
mouse but it’s recommended that you control it using
an iPad or iPhone (running the TouchOSC app and the
accompanying layout provided in the download).
Tempo (BPM) for the built-in delay effect can be
entered manually or tapped in. It can also be
synced to Traktor’s BPM, meaning that any echoes
will automatically be kept in time with what you’re
playing in Traktor.
You must be a registered member to
download this template. Registration is easy and
free.
