BlueLab | Audio Plugins has updated Waves, a free plug-in to display the sound in 3D, to v5.4.1.

Waves is a plug-in that simply displays the sound in 3D. Several display modes are available, as well as parameters to adjust the display. The view can be easily manipulated using the mouse or the trackpad.

Entropia free thermodynamic microstate sequencer for free VCV modular synth  12th February 2019

Pyer and Marc Boulé has released a new Geodesics series module for the free VCV virtual modular synth. Entropia is a free thermodynamic microstate sequencer.

This module can be a melodic sequencer, a controllable random source, a sequenced series of VCAs, and every possible mix of each. The 8-step sequencer has two values per step and a probability to select one of the two values.

The resulting sequence is achieved by switching or adding the two values. Both values can be a sequence of voltages, a range controlled random source, or an external source.

Thomas Mundt has updated LoudMax to version 1.26 for Mac OS, Windows and Linux. The Winamp version has also been updated.


- Improved algorithm at high compression levels.
- Slightly less CPU utilization for ISP detection.

LoudMax is a Look-Ahead Brickwall Loudness Maximizer with a clean transparent sound. It is designed to retain the original character of the music as much as possible even at high compression levels.

ncbc.org updates free Qtractor to v0.9.4                 08th February 2019

rncbc.org has announced the release of Qtractor v0.9.4 as the Winter'19 Beta release for Linux.


- Drag-moving and copy-pasting existing clips, while over the main track-view, now shows the respective (audio wave-shapes and MIDI piano-rolls) graphical representations, as much as possible.
- For good and bad, session name changes now trickle down to respective audio/MIDI file names as well.
- Audio output monitoring meters may now be shown on MIDI tracks and buses as a default user preference option (View/ Options.../Plugins/Instruments/Show audio output monitoring meters) and also in plugin list context sub-menu (Audio/Meters).
- Custom color (palette) themes can be exported to and imported from external files.
- LV2 plug-in UI GTK2 and X11 in Qt5 host native support are now enabled on configure by default.
- Fixed minimum input value as 10% (was 1%) for audio clip time-stretching in the Clip / Edit... dialog.

Qtractor is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio.

Qtractor is free, open-source Linux Audio software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.
