Wavosaur
is a free sound editor, audio editor, wav editor
software for editing, processing and recording sounds, wav and mp3
files. Wavosaur has all the features to edit audio (cut, copy, paste,
etc.) produce music loops, analyze, record, batch convert.
Wavosaur supports VST plugins, ASIO driver, multichannel wav files, real
time effect processing.
The program has no installer and doesn't write in the
registry. Use it as a free mp3 editor, for mastering, sound design. The
Wavosaur freeware audio editor works on Windows 98, Windows XP and
Windows Vista.
Wavosaur is currently in alpha release stage (i.e.
pre-release) ands made available for free (donations welcome).

Neosound Fx can record live audio through a
microphone or mixer, or digitize recordings from cassette tapes, vinyl
records, or minidiscs. With some sound cards, it can also capture
streaming audio.
QuickAudio lets you edit, play and record digital
audio as well as convert between various popular audio formats. It has
standard audio editing features, multiple undo, audio spectrum analysis
as well as support for up to 24 VST plugins. Zoom out to edit your whole
waveform at once or zoom in to edit individual samples. Cut and paste
between as many files as you like.
Sound Engine Free does not offer as many features
as some of the other audio editors available, most notably lacking VST
support so it is not easily expandable with the large number of free
plugins available. However, it is a very robust and stable program that
does all the basics of recording, cutting and pasting audio very well
and quite quickly. It also does feature the standard effects built in
and can batch process volume adjustment automatically which can be
useful.
SoundEditor does
not offer all the advanced functions of some of the
other audio editor available, but does work extremely
quickly and has the added bonus of working straight
after downloading, without having to install the
software to the Windows registry. It does not support
VST plugins and so lacks expandability of effects, but
does include a basic wave synthesizer, resampling,
filters, sound recorder and fading amongst othr standard
functions SoundEditor.exe
does'nt need any installation or accessory. Download it
and double-click. That's all!
