"AlphaLive™ is a standalone
application that enables the AlphaSphere to operate
as a number of common devices found within
electronic music production. Presented with an
attractive and intuitive interface, the software
allows you to program the functionality of the
AlphaSphere to a highly customized level, ultimately
creating an expressive electronic musical instrument
and controller that is perfect for composition,
performance, and production."
New features:
-
AlphaSphere LED Configuration and Control – The
RGB LED inside the AlphaSphere can now be
completely customised – change the colour/brightness,
make it flash in sync to AlphaLive’s clock or an
external MIDI Clock, as well create completely
custom colour changes and animations using
external MIDI CC messages. Some LED settings can
be controlled with pads (via Controller Mode) or
elite buttons.
-
MIDI Dynamic Channel Mode – This is a useful new
feature that allows MIDI channels to be
dynamically applied to pads when they are
pressed, giving each pad a unique MIDI channel.
This can be used to create polyphonic pitch
bend, as well being an alternative to polyphonic
aftertouch when it is not available, allowing
notes to be modulated individually.
-
MIDI Clock – You can now send MIDI Clock
messages to sync external MIDI software/hardware
with AlphaLive’s clock, or you can receive MIDI
clock messages to sync AlphaLive to an external
MIDI source.
-
Pressure Latch Mode – This mode allows you to
‘latch’ the pressure value of a pad. This
feature will be most useful when wanting to
control a MIDI slider/dial in a more
conventional way, without the control going back
to zero when you release the pad.
-
Added a ‘View’ menu that includes some shortcuts
for viewing different displays and interface
elements within AlphaLive.
-
You can now change the text of the pads on the
Pad Layout section to display pad contents
rather than just pad numbers. Change this via
the Preferences pane. Please note that this
feature is still in beta mode.
-
A new option that sets only the most recently
pressed MIDI pad to have control of any type of
MIDI channel pressure data (channel aftertouch,
pitch bend, mod wheel or CC data) of a
particular channel at any time. This option will
prevent the glitchy/jumpy effect caused by
pressing multiple pads set to the same MIDI
message. Access this option via the Preferences
pane.
Minimum System Requirements Mac Intel machine
running OS X 10.5 or later Windows XP SP3 or late.
