News - April 2012

ScoreDate updated to v3.0                                           26th April 2012

It is an free (open source) software written in Java that helps musicians to learn music reading.

After quite a long time, here's a new version of ScoreDate, which brings an important step ahead to real time playback. Thanks to Fluidsynth, which is a great cross-platform project, it is now possible to reduce the latency to few milliseconds. The use of this synthesis engine allows also users to load their preferred sound banks in the SoundFont 2 format. More info here.

From now on, ScoreDate will be available on separate packages for the 32 and 64 bit systems (Windows and Linux). Unfortunately OSX users will have to be patient to use the Fluidsynth engine.

- Following the complete list of changes:

- Integrated low latency sound synthesis through Fluidsynth

- possibility to load user sound banks with Soundfont format (.SF2)

- added dotted half and quarter notes

- highlight virtual piano keys when playing with an external MIDI device

- added some more exercises

- editing of exercises with accidentals on clef

- missing strings on some translations
