A fairly standard waveshaping distortion plugin, made more interesting through
the use of feedback to control the shaping. Can get pretty loud and
obnoxious. The GUI was done in Blender, and you can find the .blend file in
the source code zip.
A simplistic distortion plugin, with two modes. The first mode is a
modified threshold-type distortion (although the modification isn't
particularly noticeable, sound-wise). The second mode is called Sine
Wave distortion, although it's actually closer to frequency-modulation,
as the audio input is used as the index to a sin() function.
Ear Wring is a ring modulator controlled by three phase distortion oscillators
and one LFO. Depending on the pitch, this can go from a gently oscillating
tremelos to fuzzy, synth-like freak-outs. An optional harsh fuzz can be
added to the signal before modulation. Mixed with the dry input signal and
fed into an amp simulator, Ear Wring can add some meat to your guitar tone.
Torture Chamber is a distortion pedal with four controls: input, shock, saw,
and tone. The four screws in the corners also control the intensity of the
distortion.
The Heeb CrunchDude 0.1 is
a very simple, yet effective guitar amplifier emulation VST plugin. As
the name implies, its strength lies not only in clean or over-the-top
lead sounds, but especially in the excellent crunch sounds it can
produce (certainly a weak point in many similar devices, virtual or
otherwise). Its use is not limited to the electric guitar however. It
can also be extremely useful in processing e.g. bass guitar,
synthesizers, etc. Let your imagination run wild, and let your ears be
the judge!
