The Cobalt Chorus
is based on the chorus effect in the Cobalt VSTi
synthesizer. It is capable of creating traditional
chorus effects as well as flanging and vibrato. Its
quadrature LFO enhances the stereo output by modulating
the left and right channels 90 degrees out of phase with
each other. Also, you can control the modulation depth
in realtime with the modulation wheel.
Key Features
Delay time from 1 to 25
milliseconds
"Quad" LFO modulation for
enhanced stereo sound
Modulation wheel can be
routed to control the LFO's modulation depth
The
FlangerHand plug-in is based on the idea of the
early flanging effect realised on a setup of up to 4
tape machines (1 source, 3 recorders) in the '60s. The
playback-head output from two recorders was mixed
together onto a third recorder. The "flange" effect
originated when an engineer would literally put a finger
on the flange, or rim of one of the tape reels so that
the machine was slowed down, slipping out of sync by
tiny degrees. A listener would hear a "drainpipe"
sweeping effect as shifting sum-and-difference harmonics
were created. When the operator removed his finger the
tape sped up again, making the effect sweep back in the
other direction.
This original chorus effect offers a high quality
modulation engine, and many other original features: one of these is the
practical user interface, which allows the user to obtain thousands of
different sound configurations. The user can choose the number of
voices to be generated by the modulation engine. Each wet
voice is represented in the XY screen in relation to the
currently selected couple of parameters.
The Classic Phaser emulates analog phasers from
the 70’s and 80’s. These vintage phasers got their characteristic sound
from the analog phase shifting filters used, unlike the delay lines used
in most modern digital phasers. To get a deeper and fatter phasing
effect, more filter stages were cascaded. The Classic Phaser works just
like an analog phaser, and with selectable filter stages from 4 to 12,
it can resemble anything from phaser pedals to expensive studio phasers
from that time period.
This is a VST compatible Phaser
plugin. It will create radical phasing effects. The
phaser can be triggered by the envelope of incoming
samples and by an LFO. Perfect for whooshy pads and
extreme bleeps. 3 to 23 (yes, 23) stages phaser
with feedback. Phaser operation is controled by a
mixture of LFO and envelope follower, both configurable.
Enhanced stereo effect. Pre-phaser distort or saturate.
